Worker Appreciation Week

Dear CUE Members,
Tuesday, February 17 through Thursday, February 21, 2003 SEJ (Students for
Economic Justice) will be holding "Worker Appreciation Week". Please
join SEJ in their recognition of all members of the UCSD workforce.
In CUE, we are police dispatchers, child care teachers, library
assistants, administrative assistants... just to name a few!
The following events will be held in support of CUE, AFSCME, UPTE, AFT
and all unions on the UCSD campus.
Tuesday, Feb. 18
Take action in the community: Rally to support Hotel Workers from La
Costa Resort & Spa - Meet at CCC for carpools at 1:30pm
Visit the SEJ tables on Library walk from 11am - 1pm.
Wednesday, Feb. 19
Worker Film & Spoken Word: See the screening of "At the River I
Stand," a story of the 1968 civil rights and labor movement, and hear
poet Jimhye Collins: Malcolm X, Geisel Library 6pm
Thursday, Feb. 20
Worker - Student Potluck: Please come out for this event and mingle
with your union "brothers and sisters" as well as the supportive
students from SEJ! Bring a dish or just come and eat! 4-7pm

Friday, Feb. 21
Check out the fabulous labor oriented Art Display on the Price Center
Lawn.
