General Membership Meeting
CUE Union Local #2
June 8, 2004

In attendance were:
Mary Juma, President and UCR Rep, Statewide Executive Board
Sandy Oberlies, Vice-President
Ginger Schilling, Secretary
Terri Romano, UCR Rep, Statewide Executive Board
Connie McGrath, UCR Rep, Statewide Executive Board
and CUE members for an estimated total of about 15 people.
Not present:
Chris Benoit, Staff Person
The meeting started approximately 12:15pm.
Mary began the meeting by apologizing for cancelling the guest speaker at the last minute.
Riverside has an election up-coming for the position of Treasurer. We need 3 volunteers for an Election committee.
Someone asked about the job description. It is online on the CUE website.
There will be a SW In-Person meeting in Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday, June 12-13. It will include training relating to the new bargaining team and contract. SW will pay for two members besides the SW Eboard representatives.
On June 26th, there will be a one day training session, 9-5, in Oakland for the new contract.
The bargaining team for Re-Openers will meet with UC again on June 24th but CUE expects nothing. The next step is fact-finding. Can't really share anything much with members while in mediation.
General discussion. A member thought that having more guest speakers would entice more people to come to meetings.
