The Complaint also charges UC Davis defendants with violating the whistleblowing statutes based upon allegations of mismanagement of public funds, as well as obtaining skin grafts from deceased children without obtaining the necessary authorizations and determining whether the skin could be diseased/infected.
The UC employees are represented by Wendy C. York and Daniel P. Jay, A Professional Law Corporation, 601 University Avenue, Suite 110, Sacramento, CA 95825.
York was the attorney for Anil Prasad, a Sacramento man who won a $891,710 jury verdict in a minority-discrimination lawsuit in 2000 against the University of California, Davis. Prasad, who is of Indian ancestry and was born in Fiji, was subjected to discrimination, involving malice, oppression, and fraud, which UC Davis failed to prevent. More information regarding Prasad's lawsuit may be viewed at the Sacramento Bee news archives.
