DRAFT AGENDA

Saturday, August 19, 2006

I. ROLL CALL--5 minutes--Judy Shattuck

II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA/MINUTES--10 minutes--Judy Shattuck

III. CONSENT CALENDAR ITEMS--30 minutes
Claudia Horning, Chair

A. Santa Cruz Local 10 requests that Statewide pay hotel, car rental and gas, parking and lost time expenses for Lisa Gustafson to attend Labor Arbitration Institute in San Francisco on Sept. 7-8, 2006. Approximate expenses as follows: Hotel $139 + tax for one night; Parking @ hotel $30.00/day for 2 days, total $60.00; car rental $37.99/day + insurance and taxes for two days total approx. $125.00; gas approx $30.00; Lost time for two days approx. $296.00. Total cost (including lost time expense) is approx. $651.00. {Local 10 has paid the $375.00 registration fee, but needs help with the rest of the cost.}

BACKGROUND: This was a previous consent calendar item, but it was removed while I applied for 16 hrs of T & D time per our new contract language to attend this class. My request was denied, so I guess I will be filing a grievance about it. (altho I have so many now, I don't know how I can work this one in.) In the meantime, I will NOT BE ABLE to attend the Arbitration Institute withnout the additional support from statewide. My Local cannot afford to foot the entire bill.
