Mediated: Wages (alternative #2)

  1. GENERAL INCREASES AND INDIVIDUAL INCREASES EXCEPT LBNL:

    1. Fiscal Year 2001-2002

      1. Following written notification from CUE of its ratification and acceptance of this entire Agreement with the University of California, the University will provide eligible employees a non-base building lump sum equal to 1% of an individual’s total earnings for the time period 11/1/01 through 9/30/02. Total earnings is defined as straight time (base pay) plus overtime.
      2. The processing shall occur as soon as practicable but not more than 120 calendar days following the first pay date following the effective date of this Agreement.
      3. Eligible employees shall be those members of the bargaining unit who are on the payroll or approved leave as of the effective date of this Agreement.
    2. Fiscal Year 2002-2003

      1. The University will, effective October 1, 2002, increase the salary ranges for the classifications in the Clerical and Allied Services Unit (Unit 12) by 1% as indicated in Appendix A. The parties recognize that the actual salary range or rate adjustment for each class will vary slightly due to rounding (Appendix ).
      2. Eligible employees in the unit will receive a within range, one-half step, base-building salary increase effective October 1, 2002, (or the closest bi-weekly or semi-monthly pay period after October 1, 2002).
      3. To be eligible for increases in A.2.a above, employees must be in a career appointment in the unit for six months or more on the effective date of the increase (or on approved leave) and must have a satisfactory or better performance evaluation.
    3. Fiscal Year 2003-2004

      The University and CUE shall negotiate over Article 43, Wages, in accordance with the provisions of Article ____, Duration.

  2. INDIVIDUAL SALARY INCREASE EXCEPT AT THE LAWRENCE BERKELEY NATIONAL LABORATORY.

    1. The University will not implement the merit program for 2001-02. Each eligible step-based employee will receive a 1%, non-base-building lump sum payment according to A.1.a. above.
    2. The University will implement a merit program for 2002-03 according to A.2.a above. Each eligible step-based employee will receive a within-range, one-half step adjustment.
  3. ORDER OF INCREASES

    If more than one salary adjustment takes place on the same date, actions will occur in the following order:

    1. Range Adjustments;
    2. Merit Increases
    3. Increases resulting from Promotion or Reclassification
  4. OTHER INCREASES

    1. The University may increase, during the term of this Agreement, individual salary rates, or salary ranges for selected classes at selected locations. The University may also increase, for selected classes at selected locations, during the term of this Agreement, shift differentials, on-call rates, and/or extend the coverage of such rates. At least thirty (30) days prior to implementing the increase referenced in this section, the University shall inform CUE.
  5. INCREASES FOR ALL CLERICAL AND ALLIED SERVICES UNIT EMPLOYEES (UNIT 12) AT THE LAWRENCE BERKELEY NATIONAL LABORATORY.

    1. The Side Letter of _________________, 2001 shall be incorporated into this Agreement and attached as Appendix __, and Wages for 2003 will be included in the reopener negotiations according to Article Duration.
    2. All other provisions of this Wage Agreement will not apply to LBNL, except Section F., below.
  6. The rate adjustments, base or non-base, if any, provided in this Article shall not be subject to Article 6 Grievance Procedure, or the Article 3 Arbitration Procedure, of this Agreement.
  7. Reporting of FY 2002-03 Merit Increases To CUE

    The University will provide CUE a report of the total amount of the gross regular pay for career employees eligible for merit increases on October 1, 2002, and the amount each campus spent on merit increases and in percentages of the gross regular pay for eligible career employees according to this agreement. The report will be provided as soon as practicable after the merit process for October 1, 2002 is completed.

  8. The range and rate adjustments, base or non-base, if any, provided in this Article shall not be subject to Article 6 Grievance Procedure, or Article 3 Arbitration Procedure, of this Agreement.
