Here are some things we have done in the past.

Friends in CUE,

The UPTE technical employees are on strike to protest the Unfair Labor Practices and bad-faith bargaining that UC and Lab management have been engaged in. The "techs" have been in bargaining for over nine months and the UC bargaining team have consistently been late to bargaining, cancelled sessions, failed to fulfill information requests, and brought people to the table that do not have decision making power.

Sound familiar? The University of California seems to be engaged in the same anti-union actions that it used during the CUE negotiations just months ago. This strike is a powerful and effective way to tell UC that these disrespectful tactics will not be tolerated and must be met with opposition from those people whose lives and paychecks are affected by the stalled bargaining.

Supporting these courageous workers will help their negotiations and will send a clear message to the Lab and UC that they must bargain fairly with all workers. There will be a rally at noon below the main gate (Blackberry) at the lab (take Hearst Ave. up the hill). You can post your UPTE support signs in your cars, in your offices, in your windows. You can also wear your CUE buttons to show your solidarity.
