CUE's Arbitration Appeals Panel consists of experienced stewards on all campuses who make decisions about various grievances around the state and whether or not to proceed to arbitration.
They meet by telephone conference approximately once per month (see below for schedule.)
This committee follows
CUE's Internal Process for Deciding Which Grievances to Send to Arbitration.
If you are a steward and have a grievance your local wants to bring to arbitration, please make certain your Arbitration Appeals Panel representative has a copy of all materials.
If you don't know who your local representative is, contact Mary Higgins, Chief Steward. It is vitally important that all grievance cases
to be brought to arbitration go through this panel for approval. Otherwise, if the local chooses to go forward without approval, the cost of arbitration will be borne solely by the local. See
Payment Policy for Arbitrations for more information.
Please FAX your materials in advance to Jennifer Carrington so the committee members can be prepared.
