Strike Hardship Fund

May 19, 2005

CUE's Statewide Executive Board has authorized hardship funds for those who honor the UPTE strike (now set for May 26) and for those who participate in whatever CUE strike is called by the CUE Executive Board. The conditions for this payment will be: The clerical worker needs to be on the picket line for at least 4 hours per day, in which case he or she will be eligible for $60 for that day, so long as he or she does not work any part of his or her UC work shift that day. The amount will be the same for those who are full-time UC employees and part-time UC employees.

Please remember to vote -- either on-line at http://www.responsetrack.net/cue/cue_survey or through the CUE office on your campus. But vote only once! All your votes will be discounted if you vote more than once.

If you vote on-line using the above URL, you'll need to know your UC ID number (not your social security number). Depending on your campus and department, you can find your ID number on your paycheck or surepay statement or deposit document -- or on your time sheet or badge.

Finally, unless you are satisfied with UC's present wages for clerical staff, please vote, and please vote "YES"! The deadline to cast a ballot is 5:00 pm, May 25.
