CUE Local #7, UC Davis, has successfully bargained a new job title for their campus and medical center. Here are the Class Specifications for the __Assist IV (4725) job title at UC Davis (note the salary scales are UC Davis-specific). CUE is negotiating to get this classification for all campus locations, and will bargain salary scales for each campus.
SERIES CONCEPT
This level is characterized by administrative responsibility for a total
program, service or unit. Incumbents may have responsibility for managing
all the business or student related functions of a large academic or
administrative unit. In an academic department, ORU, Center, or Health
System, responsibilities consist of all of the following, but not limited to:
Serving as account manager on a number of varied and complex accounts (contracts, grants, state, gifts, balance sheet, clearing, etc.). Maintaining appropriate audit trails and responding to and complying with audit investigations.
Serving as mandatory unit reviewer requiring in-depth knowledge and skills in automated systems such as PPS and OPTRS and BANNER;
Providing reconciliation, report creation, financial planning, and consultation to faculty Principal Investigators, Department Chair, and MSO requiring knowledge, skill and experience in utilizing automated systems such as DaFIS and Decision Support capabilities.
Developing and managing student related programs and activities.
Independent decision-making and authority based on a significant knowledge of the organization's objectives and activities.
Factors to be considered:
Excludes supervisory positions.
Note: Specific qualification requirements are approved for positions by the Human Resource Directors in accordance with the provisions of Staff Personnel Policies 210.8 and 210.9.
