2008-2009 Bargaining Reports

CUE has engaged in preparation for bargaining for a successor contract. Our present contract ended on September 30, 2008. Included in these negotiations will be any raise we get in 2008-09. CUE and UC are trying a new approach to the bargaining process for this round called Interest Based Bargaining (IBB). IBB attempts to address both parties' interests and produce "elegant solutions". A Federal Mediator Valarie Harrigan from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service will be facilitating the negotiation sessions. The Ground Rules for IBB were agreed to and signed off on May 19, 2008.
