Bargaining at UC Irvine on November 30 - December 2, 1999 was very slow and difficult. Nevertheless, some progress was made toward reaching agreement on the grievance procedure which is vital to the enforcement of the contract.
We will be bargaining with UC the entire week beginning December 6, 1999. In this session of accelerated bargaining we would like to settle all the remaining issues. It will be an enormous task because we are far apart on many issues. CUE is prepared to negotiate, but settlement will take unprecedented movement on the part of UC to close those gaps.

and the resolution of Grievance and Arbitration
