UC Proposed Package Deal - Deadline 6/10/05, 5:00PM

On Friday afternoon, June 3, 2005, UC produced a package of proposals to the CUE bargaining team stating that we must accept the entire package unchanged by 5:00 PM on Friday, June 10, 2005 or the package would be taken off of the table. Here is the wage proposal. One of our CUE bargainers, Melinda Gandara from Santa Barbara, put together an analysis and comments on this proposal.

Here are some of the remaining articles that are tied to the wage proposal. UC indicated that on many of the contract articles (that are not shown below) they may be willing to revert their current proposals to current contract language for the purpose of this package, but they did not tell the team which specific articles.

• Article 6: Duration
• Article 7: Grievance Procedure
• Article 10: Hours Of Work
• Article 20: No Strikes
• Article 20: No Strikes Side Letter Agreement
• Article 27: Personnel Files
• Article 30: Reduced Fee Enrollments
• Article 31: Rehabilitation/Reasonable Accommodation
• Article 32: Resignation/Job Abandonment
• Article 33: Respectful, Fair Treatment

On 6/10/05, CUE presented a counter proposal to this "take-it-or-leave-it" package.
